William(Bill) Hugh Tailby

William (Bill) Tailby was born on March 26, 1932 in Edmonton, Alberta.

 The second of three boys to the late William and Irene Tailby.

He proudly served his country from 1950-1954 in the Korean War.

On September 19, 1959 he married the love of his life, Marie Horvat of Wildwood, AB. They soon started a family and were blessed with seven children; Irene (Tony), Edgar (Teresa), William (Judy), Timothy, Brian (Lana), Cheryl (Lance), and Mark (Rena).  There are 23 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren to be more than proud of.

After making their home in Edson, Bill worked hard and continued to provide for his family.

Bill has been a taxi driver, heavy equipment operator, truck driver, plumber and worked for the Town of Edson. There was little that he hadn’t done or tried his hand at.  Bill was a great outdoors man and this was his true passion. He thrived at hunting, fishing, tying fishhooks and trapping, gold panning, even flying machines. These traits he loved to pass on and if you were willing to learn, he was willing to teach them.

Bill passed away on September 22, 2018 at the Edson Hospital surrounded by his family.

Bill will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and if he has his way…. I’m sure he’ll have a fish story to tell already.

Funeral to be held at Sacred Heart Parish on October 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
