It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Katherine Brandle, on August 16th, 2018 in Edson at the age of 86 years. Katherine had a good life on the farm where she raised 10 kids. She had a kind and loving heart and always had a smile on her face. She loved kids and her door was always open to kids and adults alike. She loved to cook and feed whoever came to her home. She was famous for her creamed chicken, baked beans and homemade bread.
She worked hard all her life. She always had a big garden in summer where she grew all her vegetables and then canned them for the winter along with whatever fruit that was available. She raised chickens, turkeys, ducks and pigs. There were also cows for milk, cream and butter.
Katherine is survived by her sisters Bernadette Trembley and Virgina Bodie, 10 children: David Brandle, Earl (Linda) Brandle, Rodney (Millie) Brandle, Sharon (Jim) West, Mark (Robin) Brandle, Barry (Karen) Brandle, Holly Masters, Denise Brandle, Angela (Earl) Anderson and Carmen (Dan) Rondeau, 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Adam Brandle, sons Matthew Brandle and George Brandle, parents George and Mary Weigel, sisters Mary Ell and Julie Daignault, brothers Nelson Weigel, John Weigel, Joe Weigel and Ben Weigel.
A memorial service will be held at the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. Following the service Katherine will be laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery. Lunch to follow in the Sacred Heart Church basement.
